iProspects website is for Financial Advisers (known as salespeople who sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds and investment related services) to do something called drip marketing. Drip marketing means staying in touch with potential clients (known as prospects) in a non-threatening way. This would included emailing useful tips, newsletters, educational materials etc. The application will automate this process.
A real life example in addition to developing this site is for, a financial advisor that works on a team with two other advisors. One of there accounts is the retirement plan for the teachers in city where there are located. A retirement plan allows the teachers to automatically have a portion of their paycheck deposited into the retirement saving plan. There are 1,400 employees in the school system. There are about 400 employees who are actively participating in this plan. They would like to have many more participating as it would increase there compensation and make the school management happy as it is there job to get the employees to utilize the benefits offered to them. The best way to achieve higher participation (more employees sign up for the plan) is to provide on going education.
